The Covid-19 pandemic is a worldwide pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, a novel coronavirus which isn't noticed earlier in humans.

In December 2019, a cluster of symptoms of "pneumonia of unknown origin" was observed in Wuhan, a Chinese city. The virus was first identified in January. In the following months, millions of people worldwide became infected and more than 2.3 million patients died from Covid-19. Since March 11, 2020, the COVID-19 outbreak has been recognized as a pandemic by the WHO.
